SBA New York Drought and Excessive Heat Economic Injury Disaster Loans

Low-interest SBA working capital disaster loans for eligible Schenectady County businesses and nonprofits affected by 2025 drought and excessive heat.

About this program

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering Economic Injury Disaster Loans to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and private nonprofit organizations in affected New York counties, including Schenectady County, for economic losses caused by drought and excessive heat from June 11 through December 30, 2025. Loan proceeds may be used for working capital needs such as fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that could not be paid because of the disaster. The economic injury application deadline is December 21, 2026.

Eligibility

Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and private nonprofits in Schenectady County, including Schenectady, with financial losses directly related to the 2025 drought and excessive heat disaster.

Requirements

  • Operate as an eligible small business, small agricultural cooperative, nursery, or private nonprofit
  • Be located in Schenectady County or another eligible disaster county
  • Demonstrate economic injury caused by drought and excessive heat from June 11 through December 30, 2025
