About this program
The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region provides low-interest small business loans to businesses owned by women, minorities, and people of low income in Albany and ten other regional counties. Loans can help entrepreneurs start a business or grow an existing business and may be used to acquire or improve property, purchase equipment or inventory, support cash flow, create working capital, or invest in green technology or sustainability. Startup loans are available up to $25,000, and existing businesses operating for at least one year may borrow up to $50,000.
Eligibility
Small businesses owned by women, minorities, or people of low income in Albany County or another eligible Capital Region county, including startups and existing businesses that meet underwriting and mission-fit requirements.
Requirements
- Operate or plan to operate a small business in Albany County or another eligible service-area county
- Be owned by a woman, minority entrepreneur, or person of low income
- Use loan proceeds for eligible business purposes such as property, equipment, inventory, cash flow, working capital, or green technology
