BIA Indian Loan Guarantee and Insurance Program (ILGP) – Maine Tribal Members
Federal program providing up to 90% loan guarantees on private lender loans to enrolled AI/AN tribal members and businesses with 51%+ Native American ownership; Maine's four federally recognized tribes (Penobscot Indian Nation, Passamaquoddy Tribe, Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, Aroostook Band of Micmacs) and their enrolled members are eligible; maximum $500,000 for individual borrowers; Four Directions Development Corporation is itself an approved ILGP lender; accepted year-round.

Eligibility
Enrolled members of Maine's four federally recognized Wabanaki tribes and business entities with at least 51% AI/AN ownership; project must benefit the economy of a reservation or tribal service area.
Requirements
- Enrolled member of a federally recognized AI/AN tribe in Maine (Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Houlton Band of Maliseet, or Aroostook Band of Micmacs)
- Project must benefit the economy of a reservation or tribal service area
- At least 20% equity in the project being financed
