Provides South Carolina tax credits for approved retraining of eligible production and technology employees.
About this program
South Carolina's Job Retraining Credit Program assists qualified companies with retraining existing employees so they can remain competitive, introduce new technologies, and maintain a skilled workforce. Eligible companies may receive refunds of up to $1,000 per eligible full-time employee per year for approved retraining costs, coordinated through the State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education and the technical college system.

Eligible applicants are businesses engaged in manufacturing, processing, technology-intensive industry, or warehousing and distribution that need approved retraining for eligible production or technology employees.
Requirements
- Business must be engaged in manufacturing, processing, technology-intensive industry, or warehousing and distribution.
- Retraining must be necessary for the business to remain competitive or introduce new technologies.
- Eligible employee must be a production or technology first-line employee or immediate supervisor continuously employed by the company for at least one year.
