Minnesota Job Creation Fund

Provides performance-based grants to eligible expanding businesses that create jobs and make capital investments in Minnesota.

About this program

The Minnesota Job Creation Fund provides financial incentives to new and expanding businesses after they meet agreed job creation and capital investment goals. Businesses apply through the local government where the project is located, and awards are paid after performance is verified, with up to $1 million generally available and up to $2 million possible for certain very large projects.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are businesses engaged in qualifying traded-sector activities such as manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, technology, or similar operations that create new jobs and invest in Minnesota real property improvements.

Requirements

  • Business must obtain local government support by council resolution.
  • Business must be engaged in an eligible activity such as manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, technology, or another eligible traded-sector activity.
  • Project must invest at least $500,000 in real property improvements, or $250,000 for targeted populations.
