Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Phase I Innovation Grant
Provides up to $50,000 in grants to faculty researchers at Georgia universities at the earliest stages of technology development - often before formal invention disclosure. Funds proof-of-concept work that can later become startup companies.
About this program
Phase I grants awarded in two installments (1A and 1B) based on milestones. Phase II grants up to $100K available later for company formation. Phase III loans available for newly formed startups. Funds carry restrictions on use.
Eligibility
Faculty researchers at Georgia Research Alliance member universities (Augusta University, Emory, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, Morehouse School of Medicine, UGA, and others) seeking to commercialize discoveries or inventions. Researchers do not need an incorporated company yet.
