About this program
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Food Safety Education Fund Grants support food safety training and education for consumers, food service establishment employees, and agents enforcing the Michigan Food Law of 2000. The 2026-2027 grant cycle is accepting proposals for projects running October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are Michigan governmental or nonprofit organizations that provide food safety training or education to consumers, food service workers, or food law enforcement agents.
Requirements
- Applicant must be a Michigan governmental or nonprofit organization or entity.
- Project must provide food safety training or education to consumers, food service establishment employees, or agents enforcing Michigan Food Law.
- Producers, marketers, processors, and growers are not eligible applicants.
