About this program
The Downtown Johnson City Facade Improvement Grant Program provides Tax Increment Financing-funded assistance to improve facades of mixed-use and commercial properties in the Johnson City Redevelopment District, with priority for properties in the Historic Overlay District. The program is intended to improve building appearance, increase economic viability, enhance property values, improve marketability of building space, eliminate blight, and attract businesses and residents to the downtown area.
Eligibility
Mixed-use and commercial property owners or authorized applicants with eligible properties in the Johnson City Redevelopment District may apply for facade improvement assistance.
Requirements
- Property must be within the Johnson City Redevelopment District.
- Project must involve eligible facade improvements to a mixed-use or commercial property.
- Projects in the Historic Overlay District may receive priority and must follow applicable historic design requirements.
