CalMoneySmart 2026-2028 Grant Program
Up to $400,000 ($200,000 per program year over two years) for nonprofit organizations to deliver free financial education and empowerment services to unbanked and underbanked Californians. Funds may be used for classroom or web-based financial education, individualized financial coaching, and free financial products/services.

Maximum 15% admin/indirect costs. Subgrants and fiscal sponsorship not allowed. Funds advanced. Sunsets January 1, 2030.
Eligibility
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations exempt from federal income taxes, in good standing with California Secretary of State, that have submitted satisfactory final reports for any prior DFPI grant funding. Must serve California residents.
