FEMA Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) FY 2026
Funding to nonprofit organizations at high risk of terrorist or extremist attack for facility hardening and other physical security enhancements including CCTV, access control, fencing, lighting, blast film, security training, and contracted security personnel. Two sub-programs: Urban Area (NSGP-UA) and State (NSGP-S).
About this program
Up to $200,000 per site, max 3 sites per nonprofit ($600,000). Period of performance 36 months. Some state SAA deadlines have passed for FY26 cycle; FY27 NOFO expected late spring/summer 2026. Note: Federal funding lapse mentioned on FEMA website may affect timing.
Eligibility
Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations exempt from tax under section 501(a) and determined to be at high risk of a terrorist or extremist attack. Apply through state administrative agency, not directly to FEMA.
