UCEDC Lending Pathway for Child Care Founders

UCEDC offers New Jersey small business loans and SBA microloan-style financing that can support child care working capital, equipment, and facility needs.

About this program

UCEDC is a New Jersey nonprofit economic development lender offering small business loan products. Its loan pages describe financing products for business purposes such as working capital, equipment, inventory, expansion, and other eligible needs, with product amounts shown on its loans and products pages. The SBA child care business development support page separately identifies the need for child care business assistance and capital access. This record is a general NJ CDFI/SBA lending pathway for child care founders, not a dedicated child-care-only grant or guaranteed approval product.

Eligibility

New Jersey small businesses, including child care founders where otherwise eligible, may apply for UCEDC loan products subject to underwriting, use-of-funds, and product requirements.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be an eligible small business, meet UCEDC underwriting requirements, use loan proceeds for eligible business purposes such as working capital, equipment, inventory, or expansion, provide required business, financial, and repayment documentation, and understand that this is debt financing that must be repaid rather than a grant or childcare-only entitlement.
