Coinbase Ventures fund and Base ecosystem grant program providing capital and support to projects building on the Base L2.
About this program
The Base Ecosystem Fund, run jointly by Coinbase Ventures and the Base team, invests in and grants to early-stage projects building on Base, Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 built on the OP Stack. The program supports DeFi, consumer applications, AI and crypto, social, gaming, and infrastructure projects. Awards range from grants (typically $25,000-$250,000) to equity investments via Coinbase Ventures. Coinbase also runs the Base Builder Rewards program, which rewards top builders weekly in ETH and OP.
Eligibility
Founders and teams building on Base (Coinbase's L2). Open globally including U.S. teams. Must have working prototype or live product on Base.
Requirements
- Apply through the Base Ecosystem Fund form at base.org or via Coinbase Ventures intro
- Provide project description, team, deployment on Base, and traction data
- Engage with the Base team for review and feedback
