Johnson City Development Authority Tax Increment Financing
JCDA uses tax increment financing to support eligible redevelopment, infrastructure, and economic revitalization projects in targeted districts.
About this program
The Johnson City Development Authority is authorized to use Tax Increment Financing to encourage private development where public participation is needed for projects that would not otherwise occur. JCDA, the City of Johnson City, and Washington County use TIF to promote economic revitalization, private investment, public infrastructure, job-generating projects, and redevelopment in targeted redevelopment districts that have experienced blight or decline.
Eligibility
Developers, businesses, property owners, and public-private partners with eligible redevelopment or economic development projects in Johnson City redevelopment districts may apply for TIF consideration.
Requirements
- Project must be located in an eligible Johnson City redevelopment district or approved project area.
- Project must promote redevelopment, economic revitalization, private investment, or public infrastructure benefit.
- Applicant must demonstrate that the project would not occur as proposed without public sector participation.
