About this program
The University City Economic Development Retail Sales Tax provides local revenue for economic development projects recommended by the EDRST Board and approved through the City budget or project-specific City process. Funds can support physical and economic redevelopment of major corridors, infrastructure, business district support, business retention, expansion and attraction, marketing, training, equipment, matching grants, and other economic development uses.
Eligibility
Businesses, business districts, nonprofits, public agencies, and project sponsors with eligible economic development projects in University City may seek EDRST support through City review or annual project funding recommendations.
Requirements
- Project must support economic development goals in University City.
- Project must fit eligible EDRST uses such as corridor redevelopment, infrastructure, business retention, expansion, attraction, marketing, training, equipment, or matching grants.
- Applicant or sponsor must provide project scope, budget, location, public benefit, and implementation information.
