About this program
Michigan brownfield redevelopment tools allow eligible local brownfield authorities and developers to use tax increment financing to reimburse approved environmental response, demolition, infrastructure, site preparation, and redevelopment activities.
Eligibility
Developers, property owners, and local brownfield authorities with eligible contaminated, obsolete, blighted, or functionally obsolete sites in Michigan communities including Kalamazoo.
Requirements
- Work with the local brownfield authority and MEDC or EGLE as applicable
- Secure approval of a brownfield plan and eligible activity costs
- Document costs, increments, reimbursement terms, and compliance requirements
