Gitcoin Grants
Quadratic funding rounds where community donations are matched from grant pools, supporting open-source and public goods projects.
About this program
Gitcoin Grants utilizes multiple capital allocation mechanisms, principally quadratic funding (QF), to allocate matching pool funds across open-source software, public goods, and Web3 projects. Each round runs for a fixed period (typically 2-3 weeks) during which community members donate small amounts to projects they support, and a matching pool amplifies those donations based on the breadth of support. Grant rounds are run on Gitcoin's Allo Protocol; matching pool sponsors include Ethereum Foundation, Optimism, Arbitrum, and many other ecosystems.
Eligibility
Open-source software projects, public goods projects, and ecosystem initiatives. Each round has specific eligibility criteria set by the round operator. Open globally including U.S. applicants.
