Appleton may use TIF development agreements to reimburse eligible redevelopment, infrastructure, and commercial development costs.
About this program
The City of Appleton uses Tax Incremental Financing districts to promote development in blighted areas, rehabilitation and conservation areas, industrial sites, and mixed-use developments. TIF project plans may include acquisition, site preparation, utility and street installation or rehabilitation, professional costs, financing costs, and negotiated cash grants or loans as development incentives to property owners, lessees, or developers within eligible district boundaries.
Eligibility
Developers, businesses, property owners, and lessees with eligible projects in Appleton TIF districts may seek project-specific assistance through a development agreement.
Requirements
- Project must be located in or eligible to benefit an Appleton Tax Incremental Financing district.
- Project must advance the purpose and project plan of the applicable TIF district.
- Applicant must provide project scope, budget, financing plan, site control, and public benefit information.
