About this program
The New Orleans Fresh Food Retailer Initiative supports supermarkets, grocery stores, and other fresh food retailers that improve food access in underserved neighborhoods. The program has used disaster CDBG and city resources to provide forgivable and low-interest loans for eligible fresh food retail projects.
Eligibility
Eligible fresh food retail projects, supermarkets, grocery stores, and related retailers serving underserved New Orleans neighborhoods.
Requirements
- Demonstrate fresh food retail project serving an eligible area
- Provide business plan, site control, financing, and project budget
- Comply with affordability, food access, and loan or forgivable-loan terms
