Bloomington-Normal Enterprise Zone Incentives
Businesses in Bloomington's portion of the local Enterprise Zone may access tax incentives for eligible investment and improvements.
About this program
The Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council administers the local portion of the Illinois Enterprise Zone covering parts of Bloomington, Normal, McLean County, and Gibson City. Commercial companies undertaking qualified new investment, expansion, renovation, or facility improvements inside the zone may access incentives such as building materials sales tax exemption, investment tax credit benefits, and other Enterprise Zone tax benefits after certification.
Eligibility
Commercial businesses undertaking qualified investment, facility expansion, renovation, or improvements within Bloomington's Enterprise Zone boundaries may apply for certification.
Requirements
- Project must be located within the Enterprise Zone boundaries.
- Applicant must submit a completed Enterprise Zone certification application to BNEDC before claiming benefits.
- Application fee and required project information must be provided before benefits are granted.
