About this program
University City receives Community Development Block Grant funds through St. Louis County and HUD to support housing programs and community development projects in low- and moderate-income areas of the city. The City holds a public hearing before funds are available, City Council approves use of the funds, and the City tracks eligible expenses for reimbursement through St. Louis County.
Eligibility
Eligible public agencies, nonprofits, community organizations, contractors, and project sponsors carrying out approved housing or community development activities in low- and moderate-income areas of University City may participate through the City's CDBG process.
Requirements
- Project must support housing or community development in low- and moderate-income areas of University City.
- Activity must meet applicable HUD CDBG requirements.
- Proposed uses are subject to a City public hearing and City Council approval.
