About this program

The City of Kalamazoo administers Community Development Block Grant funds from HUD to invest in neighborhoods and low-income households. Funding supports eligible activities that address housing, public services, neighborhood revitalization, infrastructure, and community development needs, with applications reviewed locally by the Community Development Act Advisory Committee before allocation recommendations are made to the City Commission.

Eligibility

Eligible nonprofit organizations, community groups, public agencies, and qualified project sponsors serving Kalamazoo residents or neighborhoods may apply during the City's HUD grant funding process.

Requirements

  • Project must serve the City of Kalamazoo or eligible Kalamazoo residents and neighborhoods.
  • Activity must meet a HUD CDBG national objective.
  • Applicant must be an eligible organization or implementing partner under CDBG rules.
