Waterbury Downtown Micro-Enterprise Grant Program
The Downtown Micro-Enterprise Grant Program reimburses eligible Central Business District businesses for startup, equipment, marketing, payroll, and improvement costs.
About this program
The Waterbury Downtown Micro-Enterprise Grant Program is administered by the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation to bring greater vibrancy to the Central Business District. Eligible new and independently owned small businesses operating in the district may receive grants for signage, furniture and fixtures, interior improvements, window treatments, public art, marketing, business consulting, outdoor restaurant furniture, payroll support, and equipment. Grants are capped at $25,000, except machinery and heavy equipment requests may be considered up to $100,000.
Eligibility
New and independently owned small businesses operating in Waterbury's Central Business District, with preference for restaurants, food and beverage, professional services, retail, and minority-, woman-, disabled-, and veteran-owned businesses.
Requirements
- Business must operate in Waterbury's Central Business District.
- Business must be independently owned and operated and not a franchise.
- Existing businesses must have no more than 20 employees and be in good standing with the City of Waterbury and Connecticut Department of Revenue Services.
