About this program
The City of Bloomington may use sales tax rebates as a discretionary economic development incentive for projects that generate new local sales tax revenue. Approved projects can receive a negotiated rebate of incremental sales tax revenue tied to the project area or business activity, supporting retail, restaurant, mixed-use, and other sales-generating developments.
Eligibility
Businesses and developers with Bloomington projects expected to generate new local sales tax revenue may be considered for a City sales tax rebate.
Requirements
- Project must be located in Bloomington.
- Project must generate new local sales tax revenue.
- Applicant must provide projected sales, investment, job creation, and business viability information.
