SBA 8(a) Business Development Program

Federal business development and contracting support for eligible disadvantaged small businesses in New Jersey.

About this program

The SBA 8(a) Business Development Program helps eligible socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses compete for federal contracts through business development assistance, contracting support, and access to set-aside and sole-source opportunities. Deadline notes: Applications are generally accepted on a rolling basis through SBA certification systems. Notes: Included because SBA identifies minority-owned business resources and the 8(a) program supports socially and economically disadvantaged businesses through contracting assistance.

Eligibility

Eligible small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, subject to SBA ownership, control, size, character, and potential-for-success rules.

Requirements

  • Apply for SBA certification and provide ownership, control, financial, tax, business history, disadvantaged status, and supporting documentation required by SBA.
