About this program
Vermont’s Downtown and Village Center Tax Credit program supports rehabilitation of income-producing historic and older buildings in designated areas. Burlington property owners and developers may use credits for eligible building rehabilitation, code, facade, and accessibility work when in qualifying areas.
Eligibility
Owners and developers of eligible income-producing buildings in designated Vermont downtowns, village centers, or neighborhood development areas.
Requirements
- Apply through Vermont Downtown Program during the annual tax credit round
- Provide project scope, qualified costs, photos, plans, building information, and financing documentation
- Complete approved work and comply with tax credit certification requirements
