Small Business Incubator Tax Credit
Provides Missouri tax credits to taxpayers contributing to approved small business incubator sponsors.
About this program
The Small Business Incubator Tax Credit helps Missouri incubator sponsors leverage private contributions for working capital and other non-operating expenditures that support new business creation. Incubator sponsors apply to DED for designation as approved incubators, and taxpayers that contribute to approved sponsors may receive tax credits on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to annual allocations.
Eligibility
Eligible contributors are Missouri taxpayers, including nonprofit corporations except those directly benefiting from General Revenue such as public universities, that make contributions to approved incubator sponsors in Missouri.
Requirements
- Contribution must be made to a DED-approved Missouri incubator sponsor.
- Incubator sponsor must be designated by DED as an approved incubator.
- DED reviews incubator designation based on ability to carry out statutory requirements, community economic impact, conformance with local development plans, and geographic distribution.
