NMDA grants for on-the-ground projects in New Mexico that implement soil health principles such as cover cropping, compost application, and bale grazing to improve soil health.

Eligibility
Tribal governments, acequias, land grants, soil and water conservation districts, NMSU Cooperative Extension Service, and other local governmental entities with proven land management capacity. FY27 projects run July 15, 2026 – September 30, 2027.
Requirements
- Must be a tribal government, acequia, land grant, soil and water conservation district, NMSU CES, or local governmental entity
- Must have proven land management capacity
- Project must implement at least one of the five soil health principles
