About this program
The Commercial Corridor Storefront Activation Grant supports businesses and property owners that activate vacant commercial storefronts in priority Chicago corridors. The program is designed to reduce vacancies, support neighborhood retail and service uses, and help new or expanding businesses cover eligible build-out, equipment, and activation costs for commercial spaces.
Eligibility
Businesses and property owners with projects that activate eligible vacant storefronts along designated Chicago commercial corridors may apply.
Requirements
- Project must activate an eligible vacant storefront in a designated Chicago commercial corridor.
- Applicant must provide business and site information, lease or ownership documentation, and a proposed activation plan.
- Eligible expenses must be tied to storefront activation, build-out, equipment, or related project costs.
