About this program
Kalamazoo's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority helps contaminated or blighted properties return to productive use through approved Brownfield Plans that can use tax increment financing to reimburse eligible cleanup and redevelopment costs.
Eligibility
Developers, property owners, and project sponsors with eligible contaminated, blighted, obsolete, or functionally obsolete properties in the City of Kalamazoo.
Requirements
- Apply for a Brownfield Plan before undertaking eligible activities
- Demonstrate job creation or clear community benefit
- Receive Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and City Commission approvals
