University City Tax Increment Financing

University City may use TIF to reimburse eligible redevelopment and public improvement costs for qualifying projects.

About this program

University City uses Tax Increment Financing as a redevelopment tool for eligible projects, including the Olive and I-170 redevelopment area. TIF revenues may be used to help pay eligible project costs such as land acquisition, site work, infrastructure, housing quality improvements, streets, landscaping, lighting, safety improvements, and other improvements that enhance quality of life in the designated redevelopment area.

Eligibility

Developers, businesses, property owners, and public-private partners with qualifying redevelopment projects in University City may seek TIF consideration through the City's redevelopment process.

Requirements

  • Project must be located in University City and meet Missouri TIF statutory requirements.
  • Project must be in or proposed as part of an eligible redevelopment area or redevelopment plan.
  • Applicant must demonstrate eligible project costs and public benefit.
