About this program
USDA REAP provides grants and guaranteed loan financing to agricultural producers and rural small businesses for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements. Agricultural producers near Rochester or rural-eligible businesses in surrounding Finger Lakes communities may qualify for solar, HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, and other eligible projects.

Agricultural producers and rural small businesses meeting USDA location, size, and project eligibility rules.
Requirements
- Confirm rural eligibility or agricultural producer eligibility
- Submit technical report, energy audit or assessment when required, budget, match, and financial documentation
- Meet federal application, environmental, procurement, and reporting requirements
