About this program
Empire State Development’s Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development certifies eligible minority- and women-owned businesses and connects them to procurement, contract opportunities, and business growth resources. Rochester firms can use certification to compete for state contract and grant-funded project opportunities.
Eligibility
Eligible minority-owned and women-owned businesses authorized to do business in New York State and meeting ownership, control, independence, and size requirements.
Requirements
- Meet New York State MWBE ownership, control, independence, and size eligibility criteria
- Submit certification application with business, ownership, tax, and operating documents
- Maintain certification and comply with contract or program requirements
