NFL Foundation Grassroots Field Grant Program
Capital grants of up to $250,000 to develop or refurbish community football fields in underserved neighborhoods.
About this program
Administered by the NFL Foundation in partnership with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), this program provides nonprofit, neighborhood-based organizations with financial and technical assistance to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields. Improvements may include new irrigation systems, lights, bleachers, scoreboards, goalposts, and turf. Since the program's inception, more than $65 million has been distributed and 450+ fields built or refurbished nationwide.
Eligibility
Community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits, middle schools, or high schools serving low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in NFL target markets, with at least one full-time staff member and three years of operating history.
Requirements
- Hold 501(c)(3) or school tax-exempt status
- Be located within designated NFL Target Markets
- Have at least one full-time staff person to manage the project
