About this program
The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering Economic Injury Disaster Loans to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses, and private nonprofit organizations in affected New York counties, including Broome County, for economic losses caused by drought and excessive heat that began July 15, 2025. The loans can provide working capital to help eligible organizations meet ordinary and necessary financial obligations that could have been met had the disaster not occurred. The application deadline is December 21, 2026.
Eligibility
Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses, and private nonprofits in Broome County, including Binghamton, that suffered economic injury from drought and excessive heat beginning July 15, 2025.
Requirements
- Operate as an eligible small business, small agricultural cooperative, small aquaculture business, or private nonprofit
- Be located in Broome County or another eligible disaster county
- Demonstrate economic injury caused by drought and excessive heat beginning July 15, 2025
