About this program
The National Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) Program provides emergency funding to states and eligible organizations to deliver training and employment assistance to workers who have been laid off or had their employment interrupted due to plant closures, mass layoffs, military base closures, natural disasters, or other economic dislocation events. The program supports rapid response services, training programs, income support, and job placement services. Eligible recipients can use funds to provide classroom training, on-the-job training, customized training, incumbent worker training, and supportive services. The program operates through state workforce agencies and local workforce boards that coordinate services with local employers and training providers to help dislocated workers quickly return to employment.
Eligibility
State workforce agencies, local workforce development boards (WDBs), and other eligible training providers. Participants must be workers who have been dislocated due to qualifying events such as plant closures, mass layoffs, military base closures, natural disasters, or other economic dislocations. Individual eligibility requires separation from employment through no fault of one's own.
